REVIEW: EVERYTHING IS A REMIX

A documentary making the argument that sampling and remixing isn't new, has always been around, and that everything we know is a remix of something else.

ORIGAMI FOR OUTLAWS:THE MILLWALL BRICK

***This post inspired by a conversation with "Senhor Polvo" himself Uncle Richie Boy***

Sometimes a gentlemen is put in a predicament where he must defend himself but doesn't have a weapon on hand.  This improvised club can be made from a newspaper (or magazine) and can definitely help in a pinch.  In it's essence the Millwall Brick is just a folded up newspaper bent in half and used as a club.  The magic of it is how an everyday newspaper becomes an effective weapon.  This might be the only reason to continue to actually read a physical newspaper instead of reading it on a phone.

I was going to post directions, but the internet already did it for me:

BONES BRIGADE: AN AUTOBIOGRAPHY

An upcoming documentary on the crew who ruled skateboarding when I was a kid. I was too young for the Dogtown/Z-boys era, but my first "pro" skateboard was the Powell Peralta Mike McGill Skull and Snake in blue. I'm definitely looking forward to this. Screening now in select locations (in NYC on October 17, 2012), and being released digitally/home video on November 6, 2012 (available for pre-order now). Get more info here.

JACK LONDON TATTOO QUOTE

"Show me a man with a tattoo and I'll show you a man with an interesting past." - Jack London

REVIEW: GYPSY GENTLEMAN - EPISODE 1: NEW YORK

A new internet based tattoo/travel show that showcases "the world’s greatest tattooers and the world’s most fascinating places."  Kind of like a tattoo version of Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations.

I really like this show.  The Cultured Hooligan approves of the Gentleman Gypsy.  Had to write that, sorry.

Check it, enjoy it, and donate so they can make more episodes.
